The Olove team have got their fresh, full of flavour olives right.
But let me rewind for a little bit.
I love olives. Mini chef loves olives. So when I got asked to review some olives, I knew that I would have to make sure mini chef was chief judge on the review.
So, a parcel arrived in the post and at 11.30, as the postman left, mini chef and I sat at the table with three packets of Oloves ( basil and garlic, chilli and garlic and lemon and rosemary).
My thoughts first (I am biggest and most important):
Now this is where I get stuck. I am usually pretty good at picking a favourite flavour or taste. I tasted tested an olive from each pack, then I tried again and then I tried again. And I could not pick a favourite. They were all different with the lemon and rosemary being slightly tangy whilst the chilli and garlic flavour having a little bit of (not overpowering for me) heat. I think that all three flavours are really nice and I would eat each one again and again and again.
Mini chef’s turn (who thinks that although she is not biggest, is certainly the most important):
Can’t write the words, but this is what happened….I had to run out of the room to take some pictures and I came back 10 mins later to one guilty looking child, an empty pack of basil and garlic olives and a ‘mama I want more owives’……..
So what do Oloves do right? They take fresh juicy olives and remove the stone, marinate them in fresh natural flavour such as rosemary, basil or lemon and put them in handy little snack sized packets that are easy to open. This is a seriously big win for me.
Why? Because olives are a guaranteed win with the children. When we are going out and they start to get tired or hungry, a few olives are guaranteed to be gulped down in an instant, calm them down and cheer them up. But (until I came across these olives) there was no sensible way of carrying them. Somehow oil would always leak out into my bag. Now I can simply shove a couple of packs of Oloves olives into my bag and that’s that.
Better yet each pack is only 50 cal, vegan and gluten free and 100 % kosher so these really are a guilt free, healthy snack and I can easily see myself eating more than one pack at any sitting.
Seriously you need to try these.
And drumroll………I am excited to share here that Oloves are giving one lucky reader 30- yeap 30 handy snack packs of Oloves. You get to try their delicious flavours and see if you can pick a favourite.
