Ingredient Notes

  • Pumpkin purée:  You can use either store bought canned pumpkin puree or your own homemade version. Note that this is not pumpkin pie filling.
  • Greek yogurt:  I tend to use plain greek yogurt but you can use a flavoured one or dairy free yogurt if you prefer. If you use a thinner yogurt you may want to use less milk.
  • Milk:  I use plain whole milk but you can use dairy free milk like almond milk or coconut milk to your taste.
  • Banana: use frozen banana to add natural sweetness and thicken the smoothie (which means you avoid watering down the smoothie with ice).
  • Pumpkin pie spice:  For ease you can use a store bought or homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice blend. Alternatively you can use any combination of spices that make the blend such as cinnamon, allspice, ginger, nutmeg and cloves etc.
  • Sweetener – Use a little maple syrup or honey to your taste. You can add a little more if you want this sweeter.
