This addictive homemade Greek Yogurt Dip is full of simple ingredients that when mixed together pack an amazing flavor punch. I was hooked on my first taste of this protein-packed condiment, and now always have it on hand to perk up treats and eats.

Ranch Yogurt Dip is easy to whip up with 2 essential affordable ingredients (plus extras if you want) and minimal prep and comes together in under 5 minutes. 

And like my Chimichurri Sauce and 5 minute Yum Yum Sauce dip, this tangy yogurt dip is great for dipping with crunchy chips and veggies and serving up as a snack, side, on the go snack for the kiddos, an appetizer, and crudité platter. Plus it is sooooo good for spreading in sandwiches and wraps.

Ingredient Notes

  • Greek Yogurt – Get a nice thick yogurt that is unsweetened. Feel free to start with your own homemade yogurt. It is great if it has a bit of a tang. Feel free to use reduced-fat yogurt if you want to cut calories.
  • Ranch Seasoning – Use a homemade or store-bought ranch seasoning.
  • Chives – these are optional but add flavor and color.
  • Lemon juice – use freshly squeezed lemon juice. This is optional, but if your yogurt is not slightly sharp then you will need to add a little bit of sharpness.

  1. Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl and combine.
  2. Chill before serving.

Recipe Tips And Delicious Variations

  • It is best to chill this ranch dip for an hour or 2 for the flavor to develop before serving. So do factor this in if planning to serve to guests.
  • You may need to add salt depending on how much salt your seasoning has.
  • Swap the sharpness – use vinegar if you don’t have lemon.
  • Add heat  –  add in some red pepper, jalapeños, or some fresh chili.
  • Swap the yogurt   replace the full-fat greek yogurt with half-fat yogurt or dairy-free yogurt.
  • Add garlic – some fresh minced garlic adds a lot of flavor.

How To Use Greek Yogurt Dip

  • As a dip – This is a great yogurt veggies dip for crunchy vegetable chips or batons.
  • As a spread – Add about 1-2 tablespoons of this into each sandwich or wrap.
  • As a dressing – For this you would need to add some olive oil and lemon juice.
  • As a marinade – You’ll want to add olive oil, water and lemon juice to make it a thinner liquid.

Storage

  • Store – Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. 
  • Freeze – I do not recommend freezing this recipe.

Can This Greek Yogurt Dip Be Made Into A Dressing?

Absolutely, you can. Add in some extra lemon juice and olive oil to loosen it.

Can You Use Plain Yogurt?

Yes you can, but greek yogurt is much creamer and tangier. If using plain yogurt, you will need to add extra tang with some citrus.
