Green Ginger Peach Smoothie

Green Smoothie recipes

Guys, I finally did it.

I developed my first green smoothie recipe.

And I really, really like it.

It has only taken me six months to work up to putting together spinach with some fruit and turning these into a drink. I mean we are talking about spinach and it is rather green. Right? OH’s reaction was – you want me to DRINK SPINACH, in a SMOOTHIE? Are you MAD?

Well, let’s just say that I was mad. But he did drink it and we both liked it. Result.

In response to a comment from one of my lovely readers on another of my smoothie recipes, I am experimenting with diary free and banana free smoothies. Don’t get me wrong I love yoghurt based smoothies and I will make those forever and ever and ever. But the foodie in me likes challenges like this.

The key to this smoothie is using very good quality orange juice and baby spinach leaves. The peaches give it a lovely creamy texture so you won’t miss the banana or yoghurt. Of course, use fresh peaches if you have them but if not, then tinned peaches work well too. And the ginger, well that just lifts up the flavour of the peaches to a whole other level.

You definitely don’t taste the spinach in this – you just get the goodness. So don’t be put off by the name green smoothie and don’t be put off by the green colour. In fact the way I see it this smoothie is easy to make, is super healthy, full of fruit and vegetables that are good for you, is dairy free and tastes very very good.

Christmas excesses I challenge you.

Blackberry smoothie.

Cardamom banana smoothie.
