To Bake In The Oven

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F / 190 degrees C.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the Greek yogurt until combined, then shape the dough into a dough ball and transfer to a lightly floured surface.
  4. Split the dough into 8 smaller portions, then roll each into a 9-inch rope. Form each rope into a circle and pinch the edges to create a bagel.
  5. Brush egg wash on top with the everything bagel seasoning or your favorite bagel toppings.
  6. Place bagels on a lightly oiled and lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until golden.

Recipe Tips

  • To avoid sticking, use parchment paper or a Silpat on your baking sheet.
  • Leave space between the bagels to allow them room to expand. If your air fryer is small, bake them in multiple batches.
  • Be sure to use milk Greek yogurt and drain any excess liquid from the yogurt. If the yogurt is too thick, then thin it out with a bit of water.
  • Easily double or triple the recipe to make more.
  • If your dough is too wet, add more flour. If it’s too dry, add more yogurt.

Delicious Variations

  • Add a topping – Here are some bagel topping ideas. Everything bagel seasoning is always popular on bagels. You can also search your spice rack and add sesame seeds, poppy seeds, minced dried onion, and minced dried garlic or pre-mixed bagel seasonings. I also love cheddar cheese.
  • Mix it in – Add flavors to your bagel by stirring some mix-ins into the dough. Chopped strawberries, whole blueberries, shredded cheese, chopped herbs, or your favorite seasonings can be mixed right into the dough.
  • Slather it on – Slather your homemade bagels with cream cheese, jelly, peanut butter, apple butter, pumpkin butter, or chocolate-hazelnut spread.
  • Pile it high – Bagels are perfect for sandwiches. Add bacon or sausage and egg for a delicious breakfast sandwich. Top bagels with deli meat, chicken salad, or fresh veggies for a tasty lunch. Add grilled or fried chicken, cheese, and a bit of marinara for a satisfying supper.
