How To Make Bacon Cinnamon Rolls in the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C.
  • Follow the steps for preparing cinnamon rolls above, place sliced rolls on a baking sheet and cook cinnamon rolls for 35–40 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, top with frosting, and serve warm rolls immediately.

Pro Tips

  • Loosely roll the cinnamon rolls and avoid squeezing them.
  • If cooking right away, preheat the air fryer before adding the cinnamon rolls to the basket.
  • If you are preparing ahead and are cooking these straight from the refrigerator, allow the cold rolls to warm up in the air fryer while it preheats.
  • Cooking time can vary based on your air fryer. Check your rolls every 2-3 minutes during the second half of the cooking process.
  • Double the frosting. Seriously. Can you ever have too much frosting?
  • If you prefer a quick breakfast, you can always use canned cinnamon rolls like Pillsbury cinnamon rolls, but the cook time would be different. Different brands will cook differently.
  • If you prefer, you can cook these without bacon, and just serve some Air Fryer Bacon on the side.

Delicious Variations

  • Make it boozy – soak the bacon in alcohol overnight. Then drain, pat dry, and cook as usual. Bourbon and whisky both make excellent infusions.
  • Swap the bacon – try using different flavors of bacon such as hickory, applewood, or even maple-flavored.
  • Top ’em off – add fun and flavorful toppings such as chocolate chips, chopped nuts, dried fruit, cream cheese frosting, or a streusel topping.

Make Ahead and Storage

This air fryer cinnamon buns recipe is perfect for prepping ahead.

  • Make Ahead – Make the dough and assemble the cinnamon rolls as directed. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment and cover with plastic wrap that’s been lightly sprayed with cooking oil. Store overnight in the refrigerator and air fry as directed when you are ready.
  • Store – Leftovers (assuming there are any!) can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. Microwave for 15-20 seconds to give them a fresh-baked taste.
  • Freeze – To freeze these bacon cinnamon rolls, air fry them as directed and allow them to cool. Frost and place them on a baking sheet in the freezer until they are frozen. Then transfer the frozen rolls into a ziplock bag. Consume frozen cinnamon rolls within 4 weeks.

FAQs

How Long To Cook Cinnamon Rolls In Air Fryer

This depends on if you are using homemade dough or canned dough. For the homemade dough, you want to cook them for about 20 minutes at the temperatures given.

I’m Having Trouble Cutting The Cinnamon Rolls

Cut the cinnamon rolls using a serrated knife and gently drag it across the surface to slice.

Alternately, use a piece of unflavored dental floss. Slide the floss under the roll to the desired thickness, criss-cross the floss, and pull it tight in a single swift motion. This will only work if there is no bacon in the dough.

Can I Use Store-Bought Dough?

This homemade dough is fairly simple to make, but if you’re short on time, you can certainly make these with premade store-bought dough or use pre-made cinnamon rolls in a tube.

Do You Need to Use Parchment Paper For Cinnamon Rolls In The Air Fryer?

I did not need to use it, but you can use perforated parchment paper.
