COLLAGE OF AIR FRYER DESSERT IMAGES

Think you can’t cook desserts in the air fryer? Well, think again! I have gathered up some of the best-tasting air fryer dessert recipes out there.

From decadent fried churros, classic chocolate chip cookies (yes, you can bake cookies in an air fryer!), gluten free cake, and crave-worthy Air Fryer Donuts to super healthy Air Fryer Apple Chips and scrumptious Air Fryer Oreos or family approved Air Fryer Hand Pies, each one of these air fryer desserts is super easy, and soooooo fun to make.

Thanks to the magic of the air fryer, you now have a faster and healthier way to indulge your sweet tooth that is easy, fun, and guilt-free.

Why Make Desserts In The Air Fryer?

Since the air fryer works by circulating hot air around all sides of your food, only a tiny bit of oil (as in, 2 tablespoons or less) is needed to get the outside nice and crispy. And since your food absorbs far less oil, it contains less fat and calories overall. This means we can cook up those delicious desserts we normally steer clear of because of the high-calorie content.

But folks, it gets even better. Some of these air fryer dessert recipes require absolutely no oil at all. Yeap, delicious recipes with no hot oil and no deep fry.

Another major perk is that air fryers cook food much quicker than baking in the oven or frying on the stovetop. So even when you’re short on time, you can cook up healthier versions of delectable treats in a fraction of the time traditional cooking methods require.

Less Oil, Less Calories, Less Time. And all the sweet treats. Talk about a winning formula!

Just add vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or rainbow sprinkles (or not).

Chef’s Tip: It’s important to note that air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model. I recommend starting with less cook time, checking your food for doneness, then adding more time as needed.

Tips For Making Easy Air Fryer Desserts

Follow these handy tips for making air fryer desserts turn out perfectly cooked and totally delicious every time!

Tip #1. Don’t Overcrowd the Air Fryer Basket.

This may be the biggest mistake people make when using the air fryer. While it’s tempting to try to cook all your food in a single batch, it’s critical that you allow space between each item. And always make sure your food is in a single later (no stacking!).

In order for your food to cook properly, the air fryer needs to circulate air around all sides of your food. Overcrowding will result in food not being cooked evenly or sufficiently.

Tip #2. Preheat Your Air Fryer Before Cooking.

While it’s important to follow the instructions in your dessert recipe, but it’s generally a good idea to preheat your air fryer to the needed cooking temperature.

Preheating before you start cooking helps to ensure your food will cook properly, and at the right rate. Check out this post to learn more about how to Preheat Your Air Fryer.

Tip #3. Use A Sling.

Make a sling from aluminum foil to use to remove items like cakes and pies that are cooked in a pan. Here’s how to do it:

  • Fold a piece of aluminum foil into a rectangle that is at least 2 inches wide and 18 inches long.
  • Set the pan containing your dessert in the center of the rectangle, and pick up each end of the sling to lift the pan up and place it into the air fryer basket.
  • Tuck the ends of the sling into the sides of the air fryer basket. When your dessert is done, untuck and hold each of ends to carefully lift the pan out (you may want to wear oven mitts).

So, are you ready to start whipping up delicious desserts in the air fryer? Whether you’re hankering for a classic indulgence, a seasonal treat or are seeking a healthy dessert option, there’s an amazing air fryer dessert recipe in this collection that you’re sure to love!
