One of the best things about making Air Fryer Chicken Fried Rice is that it is totally adaptable. You can use any sort of meat you like.

No leftover chicken? Use turkey or pork instead. Or make it vegan and omit the meat altogether.

I used cold basmati rice to make my fried rice, but brown rice also works great. You can use packaged, precooked rice too, as Air Fryer Fried Rice is meant to be super easy and totally fuss-free.

  • Rice – leftover cooled cooked rice is what you need. Use whichever type of rice you like.
  • Frozen veggies – use quick cook veggies like peas and sweetcorn.
  • Chicken – use leftover shredded or cubed chicken.
  • Soy sauce – Use gluten free soy sauce to keep this gluten free or regular if you don’t have dietary considerations.
  • Oil – sesame oil and vegetable oil help fair ry and flavor this.
  • Green onions – a quick cook alternative.
  • Chili sauce – add a little heat, but skip if you prefer.
  • Salt – use your favorite salt.

How To Make Air Fryer Fried Rice

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350F / 180C.
  2. Mix all the ingredients including the salt together in a large bowl.
  3. Then transfer to a non-stick pan that fits inside the air fryer basket.
  4. Cook for 20 mins, stirring the rice mixture a couple of times during cooking.

Tips for Making Fried Rice in the Air Fryer

  • For those not following a gluten-free diet, feel free to use regular soy sauce instead of tamari.
  • Making air fryer crispy rice for the kiddoes, or anyone who doesn’t like heat? You can omit the chili sauce.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (325g) rice cold
  • 1 cup (130g) chicken leftover and cubed
  • 5 tbsp tamari soy sauce or regular if not gluten free
  • 1.5 cup frozen veggies (I used sweet corn and peas)
  • 2 green onions (spring onions), sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp chili sauce optional
  • salt to taste
