Ingredient notes
A few notes:
This recipe uses thin cut, store bought frozen french fries that have not been thawed. They have been cooked straight from frozen. Note that frozen fries are usually partly cooked already and coated in a bit of oil. So the recipe would be different if you are using your own homemade frozen chips.
Want to know how to Cook Frozen Fries In Air fryer? Then gather them up and let’s get cooking.
How Do I Cook Frozen French Fries In An Air Fryer
Get the complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400F / 200 C.
- Add the frozen fries into the air fryer basket, making sure to spread them out evenly.
- Cook for 11 – 12 minutes, gently tossing them in the basket twice during cooking.
- For crispier fries give them a few more minutes, but keep an eye on them as it is easy for the fries to burn when they are cooked.
- Remove from air fryer and season as desired before serving.
Top Tips
- For the best results do not overcrowd the air fryer basket so that the hot air circulates well and the fries crisp up.
- If your air fryer is small you may need to cook these in two batches.
- No extra oil is needed for this recipe.
- Gently toss the fries during cooking for crispness. But if you prefer you can use a spatular to toss them. Do it gently so they don’t break.
- If you want your fries to be a little bit crisper, cook for a few minutes more.
- Make sure you choose gluten free frozen fries if you are gluten free.
Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model. I recommend starting with less cook time, checking for doneness, then adding more time as needed.
Flavor Variations
There are so many ways for you to flavor these before serving. Some suggestions include garlic salt, dried oregano, seasoned salt, chipotle powder, grated parmesan, chopped herbs. If you want to go all out decadent, then melt some cheese over the fries in the last few minutes of cooking.
Storage
- Don’t make ahead – The fries will lose their crispness as they cool down, so I don’t recommend making these ahead of time. Cook and serve immediately.
- Reheat – reheat in a preheated air fryer for 3-4 minutes at 350F / 180C. Do toss a couple of times during cooking.
Cooking Air Fryer Frozen French Fries Time
Cooking times depends entirely on the size of the fries and the temperature. Based on a 400F / 200C temperature you shoul cook.
- Thin cut fries (about a quarter-inch thick) cook for 12 minutes.
- Regular cut fries cook for 15-16 minutes.
- Thicker fries, like steak fries or waffle fries, will need a bit more cooking time.
How To Make Sure The Fries Are Crispy
First, you want to make sure that you don’t overcrowd the basket. Also it’s important that you rotate the fries during cooking. I recommend rotating them at least 2 times for thin cut fries and 3 times for regular cut fries.

Dota 2 skins or items are cosmetic effects to enhance your hero’s appearance. It can also change in-game maps, weather, courier, and the hero’s mode of skills while not affecting its damage or the dota 2 betting gameplay. The skin or item can either be in your possession through system drops after match and event participation or steam purchase and trade. Each skin has its designated price depending on its class, rarity, and beauty. It’s what makes players willing to purchase items with a large sum of money only to stand out among the crowd. I Love French fried and this airy fryer recipe looks like a healthier way to make them, without losing the crispiness! Saving!
We have been quarantining in my in-laws basement so that we can have the holidays together, and all we had was a freezer full of food and an air fryer. We have TONS of frozen french fries in there, so we have been experimenting with them. We haven’t quite got it right yet, so this came at the most perfect time! I am going to try this today, thank you so much for this!!
Better for you and they come out perfectly crispy every time!
