Who can refuse a request so cutely put. One banana smoothie coming right up.
I tend to make banana smoothies a lot. That is because mini chef is a big banana lover and so the pantry is always overflowing with them. You should see how many banana pancakes and banana curries we go through.
I add in the ground cardamom because I think this complements the taste of the creamy banana and yoghurt really well. You can simply omit this if you prefer or try adding in nutmeg or cinnamon instead. Also I like this drink rather thick so I tend to use this ration of milk and yoghurt. Feel free to adjust your liquid quantities.
This smoothie can be quite filling and is perfect for any breakfast or brunch occasion. Or if you live with a banana addict it’s simply just perfect.

- 2 large ripe bananas
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom or to taste
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 250 ml (1 cup) milk
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) natural yoghurt
- Honey to taste optional
- Peel bananas, break into large chunks and put them in a blender.
- Add in all the other ingredients and whizz up.
- Pour into glasses and sprinkle some ground cardamom on top.
