Recipe Tips

  • If you prefer, you can use other chocolate-based cookies as your base.
  • Slightly twist to easily separate the cookies.
  • Some cookies will crumble when being separated and cut, which is why I have suggested having some extra cookies at the ready.
  • Double or triple the recipe when serving a crowd.

Delicious Variations

  • Vary the cookies – you can use other chocolate cookies to you preference.
  • Add sprinkles – Accessories these with some festive colored sprinkles or shaped sprinkles like a bat, cat, pumpkin, etc.
  • Decorate with colored frosting – there’s no reason your bats can’t have a bright and colorful stripy look.
