Cherry Popsicles Recipe Tips

  • You can use either fresh or frozen chopped and pitted cherries.
  • Silicone popsicle molds are the best as you can remove the popsicles easier.
  • Make sure to fill the molds only about four-fifths full, as the popsicles will expand during freezing.
  • Try adding an extra layer of granola in the middle of your popsicles.
  • Sweeten with honey instead of maple syrup, if you prefer.
  • Feel free to swap out the cherries for berries or other sliced fruits, depending on what you have on hand.

Prep Ahead and Storage

Prep Ahead – This is a great dessert to prep ahead and then pull out when needed. They need at least 6 hours to set up, so I recommend preparing them the day before and allowing them to freeze overnight.

Storage – You can store these yogurt popsicles in the freezer for up to 3 months with no problem at all.

Homemade Yogurt Popsicle Variations

While this version is one of my favorite homemade popsicle recipes, I have created other flavor variations based on what I have available. Some suggestions:

  • Change the yogurt: instead of Greek yogurt, use regular yogurt or flavored yogurt.
  • Swap the fruit: grapes, blueberries, strawberries, diced peaches, or sliced mango.
  • Use different toppings: chopped nuts, sunflower seeds, chocolate chips, or colorful sprinkles.
