Recipe Tips And Variations
- Mixing the dessert dip. As you mix together the butter and cream cheese, make sure there are no lumps. Mixing your dough well in the first step of this recipe will make sure your dip is lump-free when you eat it.
- Save a few chocolate chips & M&M’s for topping. Reserve a handful of chocolate chips and M&M’s to sprinkle on top of your dip (you can also crush the M&M’s).
- Change up the chocolate chips. I prefer milk chocolate chips but test it with dark chocolate chips too.
- Add in other treats. Don’t be afraid to add in additional treats if you’ve got a super sweet tooth. Try nuts, toffee bits, funfetti sprinkles, dried fruit
- Add in oats. You can add in some oats for some texture. Adding oats, to this no-bake dessert will change the thickness of the dip. So, only add in small amounts at a time. To keep it gluten free, do use gluten free oats.
- Refrigerate until just before serving. Keep your dip in the fridge until you’re ready to eat it. This will keep the dip firm and the right consistency for dipping
Storage
If you find yourself short on time, don’t worry, this decadent dip recipe can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes, so prepping ahead isn’t always necessary.
- Prep Ahead – Make a couple of hours ahead and store in the fridge. It will be firmer and perfect for serving. However if you prefer it to be even softer then bring it back to room temperature.
