Chocolate covered treats are always a big hit. They can be made in advance, look great on a plate at a party, and they make the perfect gift for someone special. And who doesn’t love Oreo cookies?! Especially these white chocolate covered Oreos that taste like they’ve been dunked in creamy milk!
I looooove any opportunity to have my kiddoes in the kitchen with me, and these Valentine Oreos are so much fun to make together. After I help them melt the chocolate, they get to dip and decorate to their heart’s desire. Fun like these easy Easter Chocolate Dipped Oreos.
And since these chocolate-dipped Oreos are so simple and inexpensive, they also make a fabulous edible gift. Take my advice and buy more Oreos than you will need for your gifts because more than one cookie will wind up in someone’s belly instead of the gift box!

- Graham Crackers or other cookies
- Rice Krispie Treats

Giving As an Edible Gift
It’s nice to show friends, teachers, and others that you appreciate them, and edible gifts are always popular. I love giving chocolate covered Oreos as gifts because they are easy to make, inexpensive, and delicious!
They really are a fun and colorful present to give to all the special people in your life. Just place several cookies in a cellophane bag, in a small tin or box, and add a little gift tag. These can be made in advance or even on short notice!

Make Ahead and Storage
- Make Ahead – Make these Chocolate Covered Oreos up to 3 weeks in advance!
- Store – Store the cookies in an airtight container on the counter. They will keep up to three weeks–if they last that long!
- Freeze – You can freeze these cookies if you plan to eat them straight out of the freezer. They make a refreshing treat in the summer. However, the chocolate may get wet with condensation when thawing, so we don’t recommend freezing these if you plan to give them as a gift.

FAQs
Can I Use Other Types of Chocolate?
Yes! We love mixing it up. White chocolate chips are delicious, but you could use any flavor chocolate, almond bark, or melting chocolate.
I Have Leftover Chocolate. What Can I Do With It?
Mix a little bit of red food coloring into any leftover chocolate to make a pink or red hue. Use a fork to drizzle it all over the cookies.

You totally saved me. These are my Christmas Cookies this year (shhhh). They are so delicious, easy and I love changing up the toppings.
I can’t believe how delicious these oreos look – the chocolate layer is bigger than anyone can wish for!
What a fun treat to make in the kitchen with my grandkids. They love decorating with sprinkles and, of course, Oreos are one of their favorites, so I know this would be a hit. I bet these would be delish using the mint Oreos and covering with dark chocolate.
These look so lovely and I agree they would make a perfect gift. It’s such a shame I can’t get vanilla Oreos where I live!
