So peeps, it is time for a party. No particular reason but we just feel that a party would be fun. Everyone needs one of these random, no special occasion parties every now and again, just to blow the cobwebs away. This time we aren’t doing the separate kids party/ grown-up party. Everybody is going to join in. If that means staid and serious banker friend having to play musical statues, then that is how it will be.
Being a foodie, the first thing I think of is how to keep people fed and watered. And because we’ve got everyone sharing the same provisions, I need to up my game. I am thinking fun, colourful yet healthy food – something for everyone.
Food is easy – think colourful tomatoes, freshly made dips, including some minty hummus, veggie dipping sticks, popcorn, baked sausages (from the local butcher) and lots and lots and lots of fruit. Simple, yet food for all. Then there is the drink. I normally fall back to the good old squash. But this time I wanted to try something a little different. Luckily I came across Feel Good Drinks and that was the drinks sorted.
Feel Good Drinks are 100% natural containing only water and fruit. You have them in a choice of refreshingly still or a little bit bubbly, depending on your mood. The key thing is that there is never any added sugar. And with a good range of flavours they are just the sort of thing that is perfect for the kiddoes and grown-ups too. And there is something about their colour that is both bright and refreshingly real.
The kids were particularly excited by the party – especially as I had put them in charge of the setting up. All I could hear from upstairs was “I want it to look nice” from one. “I want nice food” from the other. You can certainly see the difference between them with their different priorities. Luckily I could also hear them agree on a straw display and to putting the clown things into the tomatoes (say what?). And though I say it myself, some of the stuff they came up with was really quite good.
And the overall layout and preparation – all pretty good. No need to worry about having to do anything when people came – we could concentrate on having fun. Which we did:
The food, good.
The company, good.
The drinks, very very good.
Not a single bottle of Feel Good Drinks was left over. The orange and mango water and the cranberry and pomegranate water definitely get a big thumbs up from the kiddoes. Success all round methinks.
