Creamy and dreamy cream cheese caramel apple dip is a crowd-pleasing party food and a quick and easy snack or dessert. This awesome recipe lets you enjoy all the goodness of caramel apple flavor in an easy to make and easy to serve snackable form.

You know the saying, an apple a day keeps the doctor away? Well, I do looooove a good apple. But if I’m being totally honest, what I really love is caramel apples (sorry doc!). And this delicious caramel apple dip recipe delivers the amazing caramel apple flavor I crave in an easy-to-make and easy-to-eat dippable form.

One of the best things about this recipe is how easy it is to make. Like my Air Fryer Smores Dip or Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip, it’s great for serving up at parties, tailgating and game day gatherings, bringing to potlucks, or enjoying a cozy night in with a good movie.

Caramel Apple Dip

The cream cheese provides a luxurious creaminess, while the caramel spread brings a rich, indulgent sweetness. A hint of cinnamon and a touch of salt take that classic caramel apple flavor to the next level, creating a dip that’s indulgent while still allowing the fruit itself to shine.

Yeap, with just a handful of ingredients and in just a few minutes, you’ll be serving up this cream cheese caramel apple dip alongside crisp apple slices (of course), pretzels, crackers, and cookies. #somuchyum

Ingredient Notes

  • Cream Cheese – The base of this dip, it provides a creamy texture and tangy flavor. Substitute with Greek yogurt for a lighter option, or with dairy-free cream cheese for a vegan version.
  • Butter – Adds richness to the dip. Substitute with margarine or a dairy-free alternative.
  • Caramel Spread – The sweet caramel flavor is what takes this dip to the next level of yum. Use homemade or store-bought caramel sauce, or you can substitute with dulce de leche or melted caramel candies for a similar taste.
  • Salt – Enhances the flavors of the other ingredients. Use sea salt or kosher salt for best results.
  • Ground Cinnamon – Adds a warm, aromatic flavor that tastes like fall. Substitute with pumpkin pie spice for a slightly different flavor profile.
  • Apples – Chop some into bite-sized pieces to garnish and slice the rest for dipping.
  • Peanuts (optional) – Sprinkle the finished dip with chopped peanuts or other nuts, if desired.
  • To Serve – Along with fresh apple slices, set out other fun dippable items such as pretzels, crackers, graham crackers, cookies, and more.

Step 4. Remove from heat, transfer to a bowl, top with chopped apples and peanuts (if desired), and serve.

Expert Tips

  • Choose high-quality ingredients to get the very best flavor.
  • Bring your ingredients, especially the butter and cream cheese, to room temperature for easier mixing.
  • If you prefer a thinner consistency for the dip, gradually add a small amount of milk or water while stirring until you reach your desired thickness.
  • To prevent apples from browning, soak them in a mixture of water and lemon juice before serving. Drain well and pat dry before dipping.
  • For a fun twist, serve the dip in a hollowed-out apple. Simply cut off the top of an apple and use a spoon or melon baller to scoop out the center, leaving a sturdy shell to fill with the dip.
  • Apple varieties such as Granny Smith, Gala, or Pink Lady, which have a nice crisp texture, hold their shape and work well for dipping.

Delicious Variations

  • Add other spices – Experiment with different spices to customize the flavor of the dip. Try adding a pinch of nutmeg, cloves, or allspice for a warm, spicy kick. A dash of good vanilla extract can also enhance the flavor.
  • Chocolate caramel dip – Add a bit of chocolate hazelnut spread for a decadent twist. Add a tablespoon of cocoa powder for an extra chocolatey flavor.
  • Add some crunch – Topping the dip with chopped nuts (I like to use peanuts or almonds) or toffee bits adds great texture and flavor.
  • Salted caramel—For a sweet and salty combination, Use salted caramel spread and sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top before serving.

Prep And Storage

  • Prep – To make this dip ahead of time, prepare the mixture and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Allow it to come to room temperature before serving for the best flavor and texture.
  • Storage – Store any leftover cream cheese caramel apple dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days. Before serving, allow it to come to room temperature for the best flavor and texture. If the dip becomes too thick after refrigeration, you can stir in a little milk or water to reach the desired consistency.
  • Freezing – Avoid freezing the dip, as the texture may change upon thawing.
