Ingredient Notes
- Naan flatbread – I love using naan to make this pizza but you can use other flatbreads of your choice. I tend to use roasted garlic naan but do feel free to use any other varieties.
- Pizza sauce – Do use your favorite store-bought or homemade pizza sauce.
- Mozzarella – Make sure the discs are of a smaller circumference than the pepperoni.
- Pepperoni – Just use your favorite brand.
- Olives – Use black olives for the spooky effect.
- Herbs (optional) – Optional. This recipe calls for parsley flakes and dried oregano. I also use Italian seasoning. Skip if the kiddos don’t like it or if you pizza sauce has it in already.

How To Make A Halloween Pizza
Get complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.
Step 1 – Preheat your oven. Place flatbread on a baking sheet and spread pizza sauce over it, leaving a ½-inch rim. Arrange pepperoni slices on the flatbread.
Step 2 – Slice string cheese into discs and place one on each pepperoni slice.
Step 3 – Add a black olive slice on top of each cheese disc.
Step 4 – Sprinkle oregano and parsley over the flatbread. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts. Let cool and serve.
Bintu’s Tips
- This recipe lists the ingredients needed per single pizza. So, if you plan to make more than one (and trust me, you will), multiply the ingredient amounts by the number of pizzas you’ll make.
- Get creative with your toppings. Add other cured meats, cheeses, or veggies to make a spooky pizza display. The easiest swap is to cut the cheeses into shapes. If you use the cheese to decorate, bake the pizza first and add the cheese in the last 45 seconds or so.
- If you prefer, use fresh herbs instead of dried ones. And if you don’t like herbs, skip them entirely.
- If you make smaller pizzas with cookie cutters, they’ll cook quicker. So keep an eye on them and check them a few minutes earlier.
Delicious Variations
- Vary the base – If you don’t like Naan, then feel free to make this with other rounded or oval-shaped flatbreads.
- Use pizza dough – You can also use your favorite pizza dough or pre-baked pizza crust as a base. Your pizza your favorite way.
- Change up the shapes – Use Halloween cookie cutters (or a sharp knife) to cut out shapes of ghost shapes, pumpkin shapes, cat shapes, or whatever freaky Halloween shapes you like. If using a knife the more rounded pumpkin shapes or ghost shapes are the easiest to cut. My kids love Jack-o’-lantern pizzas and love mummy pizzas.
- Get creative with the toppings – Change the meat to other cured meats, use different cheeses, and add veggies to make a different spooky pizza display. I love slicing up olives to make spider shapes and bug shapes.
Prep and storage
- Prep Ahead – Assemble your pizza in advance and store it in the fridge until you’re ready to bake.
- Store – Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
- Freeze – Wrap the assembled, unbaked pizza tightly in plastic wrap and aluminum foil. Freeze for up to 2 months.
- Reheat – Reheat in the air fryer or microwave until heated through.
FAQS
You can certainly make this with fresh pizza dough as the base. You would need to par-bake it first. If you don’t bake it first, add extra baking time to ensure your crust is baked through and the other ingredients don’t overcook.
Create spooky Halloween pizzas by arranging pepperoni slices and black olives to form creepy eyes, like this recipe. Add fresh herbs for extra decoration and flavor.
The best cheese for pizza is mozzarella. It’s prized for its melt-ability, creamy texture, and mild flavor, making it the top choice for classic pizza. You can use whole milk or part-skim mozzarella, depending on your preference for richness and moisture.
