It is Mother’s day soon and I thought it would be great to share some things that I really like. I bet any mum would be happy to wake up to any of these, along with a card and a few flowers. I know I certainly will.
Treats from Marks and Spencer.
I think by now you all realise how much I like food from Marks and Spencer. Well it is no different with their gorgeous range of Mother’s day treats which include things like the selection of sweet treats, lemon shortbread thins, A daffodil Madeira cake and mini shortbread and tea cup set. Then there is their luxury fudge selection. That fudge, oh that fudge. Addictive.
All things Vanilla from Steenbergs
The lovely folk at Steenbergs specialise in fragrant organic spices sourced from all round the world. They were also the first company to launch spices carrying the Fairtrade Mark into the UK market. I adore their organic vanilla extract and vanilla sugar and have a gazillion things planned for their vanilla paste. Do pop over and check out their impressive range of vanilla and other products. Your mum, your nose and your belly will all thank you.
Magic Soup (Orion Publishers)
I am currently eating my way through Magic Soup: food for health and happiness by Nicole Pisani and Kate Adams. This cookbook is packed full of seriously delicious and nutritious soups bursting with a unique combination of flavours. Kate and Nicole (former head chef at Yotam Otolenghi’s restaurant NOPI) use spices in a way that really excite me. Two of my favourite soups are the butternut squash and peanut butter soup and the mushroom and quinoa hotch potch soups. With over a 100 recipes there are soups galore for every season. Put it on your list for mother’s day, birthdays and even Christmas.
A Baking Hamper
Why not get inspired by Mother’s Day recipes from Baking Mad and put together a lovely baking hamper. There are recipes for every skill and level as well as recipes for the more calories conscious. Just make sure to include some of the recipes in the hamper.
