Pro Tips

  • Do not thaw before you cook frozen vegetables.
  • Toss the frozen asparagus with melted butter or oil and seasoning to coat the spears well.
  • Separate frozen asparagus spears by running them under cold water long enough to separate them.
  • Turn unused fresh asparagus into frozen asparagus. Flash-freeze leftover fresh asparagus for 1-2 hours before transferring them to an airtight container.
  • Shake or turn the asparagus over halfway through the cooking time to ensure it cooks evenly.
  • When you air fry frozen asparagus, there will be liquid in the bottom of the air fryer basket. Use tongs to remove the asparagus rather than dumping it onto a plate.

Delicious Variations

  • Lemon Flavor – Add lemon zest and fresh lemon juice to cooked asparagus for a burst of citrus flavor.
  • Spicy – Sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes for a kick of heat.
  • Cheese – Sprinkle freshly grated parmesan cheese over asparagus.
  • Seasoning – Swap the seasoning and use your favorite herbs and spices.

Prep And Storage

  • Prep Ahead – Do not thaw the frozen asparagus in advance.
  • Store – Leftover asparagus should be stored in an airtight container in the fridge. Eat the leftovers within 4 days.
  • Freeze – Freezing leftover cooked asparagus is possible, but the re-frozen vegetables tend to be very mushy when thawed and reheated, so it’s not recommended.
