How To Cook Frozen Burritos In An Air Fryer
Get the complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.
Step 1. Preheat air fryer to 400 degrees F / 200 degrees C and remove the frozen burritos from the packaging.
Step 2. Place frozen burritos inside the air fryer basket.
Step 3. Air fry at 12-15 minutes from frozen, making sure to flip a couple of times during cooking.
Step 4. Remove from the air fryer, and if desired, serve with your favorite toppings and sides.
Bintu’s Top Tips
- For the best results, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket. Allow space between the burritos so that the hot air circulates around all sides and they cook evenly and at the same rate.
- If your air fryer is small, you may need to cook these in batches.
- No extra oil is needed for this recipe.
- Using tongs, gently turn the burritos over one time during cooking.
- Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model. I recommend starting with less cook time, checking for doneness, then adding more time as needed.
How To Make Frozen Burritos in Oven
No air fryer? No problem! You can cook frozen burritos in the oven. Just follow these steps;
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F / 232 degrees C.
- Remove the burrito from the packaging, place it on a baking sheet, and cook uncovered for 10 minutes.
- Then, remove and wrap the burrito in foil. Return to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F / 74 degrees C.
Storage
- Don’t make ahead – I don’t recommend making these ahead of time. Cook and serve immediately, otherwise, they get soggy.
FAQs
How long to cook frozen burritos in an air fryer depends on the cooking temperature and how many burritos you are cooking. Based on a 400 degrees F / 200 degrees C temperature, you should cook your frozen burritos for 12-15 minutes.
Smaller or larger burritos will need a little less or more time. If you are only cooking 1 burrito, then check for doneness at about 11 minutes.
First, you want to make sure that you don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Do not stack them on top of each other. Instead, place them in a single layer with space between them so they cook evenly and at the same rate.
I recommend using a digital meat thermometer to check for doneness. The internal temperature of frozen burritos should reach 165 degrees F / 74 degrees C.
Yes! Unlike a microwave, it is safe to use foil in an air fryer. You can wrap a frozen burrito in foil or line the air fryer basket or tray with foil.
To make sure you get a nice crispy tortilla, allow enough room for the hot air to circulate around all sides of the burritos. Also, it’s important that you use tongs to turn them over a couple of times during the cooking time.
While it is not necessary, some people like to lightly spritz them with olive oil or cooking spray to get an extra crispy finish.
You can also air fry for a few minutes more if they don’t crisp up enough in the recommended time.

It does work, but don’t understand why I should have to flip something over in an air fryer? Isn’t that the purpose of an air fryer, to be able to cook all the way around equally?
Nothing like enjoying a meal that the entire family will love. This looks so delicious and I love the quick and easy Air Fryer option too.
Wow never thought of using an air fryer for this! Thanks for this idea
