Ingredient Notes

How To Cook Air Fryer Frozen Waffles Fries
Get the complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.
- Preheat Air Fryer to 400F / 200C.
- Place the frozen waffle fries into the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway through.
- If you want them crispier, you can air fry for a couple more minutes but keep an eye on these so they don’t burn.
Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model. I recommend starting with less cook time, checking for doneness, then adding more time as needed.
Make This In The Instant Pot With The Air Fryer Lid
- Put the Instant Pot Air Fryer Basket into the Instant Pot and add frozen waffle fries into the Air Fryer Basket (you will need to do this in batches).
- Lock the Air Fryer Lid, Select air fryer function, set to 400F / 200C for 15 minutes, and press start.
- Cook until about 7 minutes and check – this will give you and idea of how much more time is needed. Cook for about 4-6 minutes more and then check again. If not done then cook for a further few minutes.
Air Fryer Frozen Waffle Fries Tips
- It’s possible there may be a bit of liquid inside the bottom of the air fryer basket from the melted ice. If so, use tongs to remove the cooked fries and then carefully pour out excess water.
- Make sure to separate any fries that may be stuck together before cooking.
- The waffle fries will be really hot, so allow them to cool down before eating.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer so the crinkle-cut fries cook evenly. If your air fryer is small you may need to cook this in batches.
- If using an oven-style Air Fryer, try and use the middle tray as the top tray would cook quicker and the lower tray will cook slower.
Variations
- Vary the fries – make this recipe with frozen sweet potato waffle fries (yum!) or pre-seasoned crinkle cut fries.
- Add extra seasoning – add extra at the end. See ideas below.
Seasoning Ideas
Feel free to add extra seasoning after cooking. Add the dry seasonings of your choice, such as salt, black pepper, grated parmesan, oregano, stone house seasoning, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
FAQs
Cooking times depend on how full your basket is. Based on a 400F / 200C temperature I suggest cooking them for 8 – 12 minutes.
However if you have a fuller basket, you would need to cook them a bit longer and turn them a few more times so they cook evenly.
Yes, you can cook these without any oil. Do feel free to spray on a little bit of oil if you want them a bit crispier.
