Peeps, brace yourselves. Because these Grilled Mackerel Fillets with Green Goddess Dressing is about to become your new summer barbecue obsession!
You have probably noticed the abundance of BBQ recipes on the blog lately. That is because we have gone all grown up and got ourselves a fancy barbecue with smoker and all. And we are still loving it. The kiddeos love it for a slightly different reason, aka the lovely toasted marshmallows that they make at the end of every one of our barbecues.
This means that we have been BBQing away like mad. Meat, fish, vegetables and of course those toasty marshmallows has been happening on plenty an evening.
Mackerel has got to be one of my favourite fish. So it goes without saying that I have a million and one mackerel recipe ideas in my head, including these grilled mackerel fillets with a green goddess dressing. Quick, simple and sooooo easy.
Grilled Mackerel Fillets – My Top Tip
My top tip for making these grilled mackerel fillets is to use a fish grill, especially when cooking the mackerel on the BBQ. It keeps the food together and stops it from sticking to the barbecue grill. Plus, it just makes the whole process much, much easier.
Homemade Green Goddess Dressing
Homemade creamy and fresh Green Goddess Dressing is soooo very easy to whip up. This version features:
- Greek yoghurt
- avocado
- fresh coriander
- fresh parsley
- apple cider vinegar
- lemon juice
- honey (optional)
And combined together, it so addictively good that I find myself eating it out of the jar with a spoon. That’s right…because this Green Goddress Dressing really is just that good.
So, what have you guys been cooking on your BBQ recently?? Please do share, as I need more inspiration for my lovely new gadget.

Is there a mistake in the recipe? Avocado is listed in mackerel ingredients. Avocado is not in the instructions for the green goddess dressing, but I’m guessing it goes in that? Thanks.
