The Grown Up Bacon Sandwich

Introducing you all to the bacon sandwich for grown ups.
As in taking the humble bacon sandwich to a whole other level. With a grown up twist.
And it’s all in the ingredients. I am talking fresh crusty bread, garlic mayonnaise, crisp salad greens, caramelised onions, sweet roasted peppers and smoky streaky bacon. And the clincher- a liberal helping of Stokes Bloody Mary ketchup. Yeap this seriously lush ketchup with a dash of vodka and a splash of Worcestershire sauce ‘COMPLETES’ this sandwich. Maybe I should call it the Bloody Mary ketchup sandwich with bacon?
A great lunch box idea and even better long lazy brunch idea – especially with a few Bloody Mary’s to boot.
Go. Make. This. Now.

That sandwich looks fab. I’m still guarding my Stokes ketchup to stop the Glam Teens eating it all before I’ve tasted it! I’ll be making this grown up delight. GG
This sounds and looks so delicious! Love bacon
This is the problem reading so many foodie blogs, OMG this looks amazing!
Emma, I Know exactly what you mean. Lucky we don’t ingest any calories from drooling alone.
This looks absolutely beautiful and yummy – very tempting (and I don’t even eat meat)- I love sandwiches with caramelized onions and roasted pepper ๐
Thanks E, this would taste fab without the bacon too. Just add in extra peppers.
I love a bacon butty and this one is very grown up as you say!
๐
I could eat that right now ๐
I’ll beam you up some A.
wonderfully grown up… and wonderfully tasty… I love this!
Yeap, the wonderfully grown up bacon sandwich….
Now, that’s definitely a grown-up sandwich. I love bacon but I try not to eat it that often because of the sodium content. Of course, every now and then, I do a grab a couple of pieces. Pinning….
Thanks Sharon, I really appreciate this.
Ha! A bloody Mary ketchup sandwich … I love it! I definitely wouldn’t say no to one of these right now … and I’ve just eaten dinner!
:D. I feel your food pain Helen.
I’m currently in Morocco and bacon is not widely available which saddens me as it’s one of my favourite foods, then I come across this post and the cravings are higher than ever, this looks absolutely delicious and I will be recreating it as soon as I’m back in the uk.

It is going to taste even better because of your wait.
Bloody Mary ketchup, can’t see a flaw in that anywhere!
Neither can I Chloe. That ketchup was made for this sandwich.
