How To Make It
Get the complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.

Step 1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C / gas 4. Place the bottom half of the slider buns in a greased/lined casserole dish.

Step 2. Layer the rolls with half of the cheese, then the ham, and then the other half of the cheese.

Step 3. Place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls on top, then combine melted butter, Dijon mustard, and Italian seasoning and brush the mixture over the top of the rolls.

Step 4. Cover the baking dish with foil (make sure it doesn’t touch the rolls and wipe the butter off) and bake for 10 minutes. Then, remove foil and bake for an additional 7-10 minutes until nicely browned.
Bintu’s Tips and Notes
- If your package of dinner rolls contains more than 12, you may need to use a couple of extra slices of cheese.
- You may need to add a tablespoon or two of melted butter to ensure there is enough to cover all of the sliders.
- Like to spice things up? Add a dash of hot sauce, ground cayenne, or red pepper flakes to the melted butter.
- If you don’t have a large enough casserole dish, use a baking tray instead.
- You can easily swap the ham for leftover turkey or chicken.
- Try making this with cheddar cheese, swiss, or a combination of different cheeses.

Prep and Storage
- Prep Ahead: to make in advance, you can assemble the sliders in the baking dish, but do not brush them with the melted butter. Cover with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate. Mix the melted butter and brush onto the sliders just before baking.
- Storage: keep tightly wrapped or in an airtight container inside the fridge for up to 3 days.
FAQs
I have a couple of handy tips that help keep sliders from getting soggy. Only brushing the top of the buns with melted butter, as mentioned in the recipe instructions, helps the sliders keep their shape during baking.
And, pre-toasting the sliced slider buns for a couple of minutes before you build the sliders can help keep the bread from absorbing too much moisture.
Yes! In this recipe for ham and cheese sliders, I use Italian seasoning instead of poppy seeds or Everything Bagel seasoning. You can also sub in your favorite seasoning blend.
