Why Make This Recipe

  • Perfect For Leftovers – Use leftover ham, pasta and/or sauce to make this simple casserole.
  • Frugal – Using leftovers means less waste and more money in your pocket.
  • Creamy – Alfredo sauce and cheese make this hame casserole dreamy, creamy and delicious.

Ingredient Notes

  • Pasta – Use any cooked pasta such as cavatappi, rotini or elbow macaroni.
  • Sauce – Alfredo sauce pairs really well with the ham, but you can use any flavor of sauce.
  • Ham – The ham should be already cooked, so use leftover ham or purchase some in the deli.
  • Rosemary – A few fresh springs of rosemary add flavor and color to the dish.
  • Cheese – I used a combination of chopped mozzarella and bocconcini.

Bake In The Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C.
  • Combine the ingredients in a casserole dish and add an extra 1 cup of sauce.
  • Bake for about 25 minutes until bubbly.
  • If desired, broil for a few minutes at the end to brown the cheese.
  • Cover with foil for most of the cooking time if you don’t want it too brown.

Expert Tips

  • This recipe is great for using leftover holiday ham, but you can also use leftover pasta and sauce.
  • Add more sauce to taste if you prefer.
  • Warm the sauce first, and it will speed up the cooking process.
  • Make sure your dish is air fryer safe and fits inside your air fryer basket.

Plus….

  • The ingredients are all cooked but make sure the casserole heats through before serving.
  • You can also bake leftover ham casserole in the oven

Air fryer temperatures vary depending on the make and model, so use the cooking time as a guide, check for doneness, and adjust accordingly.

Delicious Variations

  • Swap The Sauce – I used Alfredo sauce, but you can use any kind of sauce that you like. Tomato, garlic parmesan and cream of chicken soup all make flavorful alternatives.
  • Swap The Pasta – Tube pasta like cavatappi, cellentani and elbow macaroni hold lots of sauce for a creamy dish, but you can use your favorite pasta or whatever you have on hand.
  • Add Veggies – Toss in some frozen peas for a fresh twist on this flavorful ham casserole.
  • Swap The Meat – Make this casserole with any leftover meat, including chicken or turkey.

Prep And Storage

  • Prep Ahead – If you are not using leftover pasta, you can cook the pasta up to a day or two in advance and store it in the fridge.
  • Store – Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze – We don’t recommend freezing this casserole, but you can freeze leftover ham for up to 3 months and make this casserole at a later date.

FAQs

Can I Make Leftover Ham Casserole In Advance?

You can combine all of the ingredients up to a day in advance and cook when ready. Increase the amount of sauce by about 1 cup as the pasta will absorb a lot of it while it sits.

Bring the casserole to room temperature for about 20 minutes before air frying as directed.

Can I Bake Ham Casserole In The Oven?

Yes! To bake, preheat the oven to 350F / 180C. Combine the ingredients in a casserole dish and add an extra 1 to 1.5 cups of sauce.

Bake for about 25 mins until bubbly.  If desired, broil for a few mins at the end to brown the cheese.
