Recipe Variations
Other ingredients to add into this homemade dip to change up the flavoring:
- Smoked paprika
- Yellow mustard = for a nice golden colour
- Cayenne pepper
- Garlic powder
- Onion powder
- Red Pepper Flakes
- More or less vinegar depending on your taste
- Add in a dash of your favorite BBQ sauce for a nice Honey Mustard BBQ Sauce combo
MEAL PREP AND PREP AHEAD
Prep ahead – That’s the awesome thing about homemade sauces, they can be made ahead of time if needed. A lot of the time, they intensify in flavor after originally made.
Storing – Store the sauce in an airtight container, such as a mason jar, in the fridge. Due to it being mayonnaise-based, do not let it sit out at room temperature for too long.
You can store this sauce for up to one week if stored properly. If you’re using it as a glaze or marinade, you may need to double or triple the recipe, but be conscious of how much excess you make as it doesn’t last as long in the fridge as bottled pre-made sauces do.
CAN YOU FREEZE IT?
I would not suggest freezing the sauce since it has mayonnaise in it.
