Warm honey and milk recipe. How I love thee.

Brrrrrrrrr. Have you guys been as fooled as me recently? Fooled by the mild autumn and winter we have been having through to earlier this year. Fooled into ‘it’s not so bad, look I don’t even need a scarf, what were people complaining about’ kinda smugness.

I am not too proud to admit that my temporary smugness has been frozen out of me. Yeap, the fire has been roaring full blast, I am wearing 3 jumpers and I refuse to leave the house unless ABSOLUTELY necessary.

I might have been a tad grumpy whilst taking the kiddoes to the animal farm and play grounds over the colder weekend. Hey, I am only human.

There is one big advantage to the cold though. And that is having the excuse to make warming drinks like this honey saffron milk with extra warmth, fragrance and sweetness from some cardamom.

I tend to make a honey saffron tea as well, but more often than not I just whip up a milky version as it is less work and the absence of the tea allows the flavour of both the milk and the saffron to shine through. Some of my favourite flavours in one cup.

I tend to make a large pot of milk and honey, which means I have some to hand and can and pour myself a mug full every few hours, whilst leaving the saffron and cardamom pods to steep in the milk. So I get a stronger and stronger drink towards the end of the day. Just how I like it.
