Instant Pot Creamy Bacon Pasta served in a ceramic bowl with a large spoon

Recently my family had a major case of the blahs. The weather was blah, the kiddoes day at school was blah. And even I had to agree that it was just one of those blah sort of days.

So I needed to come up with a way to turn our frowns upside down. And being the foodie that I am, the words comfort food immediately leaped to mind. After some rummaging through the fridge and pantry, I emerged with two of the most comforting ingredients: bacon and pasta.

And that, my friends, is how this recipe for Instant Pot Creamy Bacon Pasta was born. Like this instant Pot Mac and Cheese and seriously delicious Instant Pot Chicken Alfredo Pasta, it truly is the ultimate in comfort food. Rich, creamy, salty and smoky. It is everything you crave, served up in one giant (for me anyway) bowl.

Made the recipe with penne’-. Added some finely diced green pepper and spicy italian sausage. This is a recipe to die for. It was excellent. Everyone loved it , from the kids to my wife. It will become a regular to go to. Thank you.

I’d love to try this, but I can’t eat gluten or high-carb stuff like pasta. Bacon all the things, though! Could shirataki noodles be subbed in? They are pretty finicky, so I’m asking the IP expert.
    Thanks,
    Mary Anna

This is such an easy and delicious way to prepare pasta. So much simpler than the traditional stove top method. And what doesn’t taste good with bacon, right? 🙂

Well you are not wrong there, bacon and pasta are definitely one of the best comfort food combos EVER!! You are lucky you had both in your home to turn the frowns upside down. Yum, simple, delicious and easy, love it!

  5. I have a question more than a comment. I make my own fresh pasta and wonder what the liquid amounts and cooking times would be. More/less liquid? less cooking time?

Thank you for a wonderful recipe! This was outstanding! Have you tried browning the bacon in the Instant Pot? I was afraid to try that as I thought the past might stick. This came together so easy. My husband and I will be enjoying this often.

For so few ingredients this is a delisious recipe! The longest part was cooking the bacon, but I imagine you could do that ahead of time or buy that precooked bacon (athough I’m not a big fan of the flavor of that!). Perfect weeknight meal.

I doubled this recipe and my family absolutely loved it! There were no leftovers. I will definitely make this again and again!!
