Pot in Pot Cooking Method

If you prefer you can cook the apples using the pot in pot method.

The Pot-in-Pot method is when you add water to the inner pot of the Instant Pot and then place a smaller pot (containing your food) inside and above the water. You do this by placing the second pot on top of a steamer basket, trivet etc.

Simply place the apple in an Instant Pot ready container, add 1 cup of water into the insert, followed by a trivet and then add in the container, seal and cook away. However, you will need to add extra time to cook these. Allow at least 10 minutes of cooking time using the pot in pot method.

  2. Season with the ground ginger and add in the dried cranberries.
  3. Cover your slow cooker and cook on high for 2 hours or on low for 4-5 hours.
  4. Serve with sides to your taste.

How To Make These In The Oven

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F / 180C/ gas 4.
  2. Add the ginger beer into the oven ready dish insert and sit the apples directly in the ginger beer.
  3. Season with the ground ginger and add in the sweetened dried cranberries.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes or until the apples are cooked through
  5. Serve warm with sides to your taste.
