Get the complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.

  1. Put white chocolate in a heatproof bowl that fits inside the Instant Pot insert.
  2. Put the milk chocolate in a separate heatproof bowl that also fits in the Instant Pot insert.
  3. Add 1 cup of water into Instant Pot insert, select the sauté button, and set to less heat.
  4. Once it heats up, use your Instant Pot as a double boiler by placing your bowl of white chocolate over the Instant Pot. The bottom of the bowl should fit inside the top of the pot and the wider top should not.
  5. Stir periodically until white chocolate is fully melted. Remove the bowl.
  6. One at a time, dip the strawberries into white chocolate, then place on a baking tray to set.
  7. Add about another half cup of water to your Instant Pot.
  8. Again, use the Instant Pot as a double boiler and place the bowl of milk chocolate over the Instant Pot and allow it to melt.
  9. Remove the bowl and then dip each of the coated berries into the milk chocolate, place back on the baking tray and let them set.
  10. To decorate, drizzle any leftover chocolate over the strawberries.
  11. Place the tray in the fridge to allow the chocolate to fully cool and harden before serving.

Expert Recipe Tips

  • Add leftover chocolate to a piping bag to easily decorate your strawberries.
  • To make chocolate even smoother when melting add a little coconut oil
  • If you need it to be allergen-friendly, try EnjoyLife chocolate morsels or chunks.
  • If you have the option, do not use the high setting in sauté mode. Melt your chocolate using the Low/Less or Normal instead.
  • Stir the chocolate periodically when melting so it’s nice and smooth.
  • Make sure you’re using soft and ripe strawberries.

Delicious Variations

There’s so many reasons to love homemade Chocolate Dipped Strawberries and after you’ve tried it with this recipe, you can try some of these other variations:

  • Try different chocolates: Try a nice dark chocolate bar, different brands of chocolate morsels, etc.
  • Try other treats: Try dipping bananas, blueberries, apples, oranges, cherries, graham crackers, marshmallows, pretzel rods, etc.
  • Roll in treats: Try rolling your freshly dipped berries in chopped walnuts, almonds, peanuts, or your nut of choice. Add in other goodies like shredded coconut, mini M&M’s, mini chocolate chips, etc.

Store And Freeze

  • Store In an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1-2 days. The berries start to lose their juices and ruin the chocolate if you leave them any longer.
  • Freeze – You can freeze your chocolate covered treats after they’ve cooled and hardened for 1-2 months in the freezer.

FAQs

What Is The Best Kind Of Chocolate To Use?

I find that using chocolate chips or bar chocolate is easy to use. You can find chips, dipping chocolate bars, or chocolate bark at most local grocery stores.

What Kind Of Mixing Bowl Should You Use?

You can use either glass or metal mixing bowls. Keep in mind that when changing temperatures, getting the glass bowl hot and turning the heat off to cool it can raise the risk of breaking glass.

It can also cause a seal to form between the Instant Pot and glass mixing bowl so you may have a hard time getting your bowl out of the Instant Pot.

If that’s the case, once you’ve turned the heat off, turn the Saute function back on and wait a few minutes for it to heat up and your bowl should loosen up and be easy to remove.

Should Strawberries Be Cold Or Room Temperature Before Dipping In Chocolate?

It’s best to use room temperature strawberries before you dip them in melted chocolate. If you’re using strawberries that have been kept in the refrigerator, let them come to room temperature for about 20-30 minutes before dipping them.

  1. I’m a bit confused about your dipping process. Here’s my confusion copied from your instructions, “dip each of the coated berries into the milk chocolate…” Are you dipping the strawberries into the chocolate after you’ve dipped in the white? I’ve never eaten double-dipped before and I think maybe the white chocolate would melt when dipping into the chocolate? Cannot wait to make these. Thank you.
