Ingredient Notes

  • Garlic Puree – Garlic puree is a smooth and paste-like mixture made by blending or crushing garlic cloves into a fine consistency. You can substitute garlic powder, but the intensity of flavor will not be the same.
  • Sesame seeds – Toasted sesame seeds have a nice, nutty flavor.

FAQs

How Long To Pressure Cook Green Beans?

Cooking green beans on high pressure for 0 minutes (yes, zero!) gives you pressure cooker green beans with a perfect amount of bite. However, if you like softer green beans, you can up the cooking time to 1 minute.

Either way, make sure to allow for a complete natural pressure release (NPR) and then immediately remove it from the heat. Don’t leave on the ‘keep warm’ setting, or you will end up with mushy green beans.

Do I Need To Add Liquid When Cooking Green Beans?

Yes, it’s important to add a small amount of liquid to create steam and generate the pressure needed for cooking. You can use chicken stock, water, or vegetable broth.

Can I Use Frozen Green Beans?

Yes, you can cook frozen green beans in the Instant Pot. The cooking time may be slightly longer compared to fresh green beans. Increase the cooking time by 1-2 minutes to ensure they are fully cooked.

Can I Use Canned Green Beans?

We don’t recommend using canned or steamed green beans as they will become too mushy. Cook fresh green beans for the best results.
