Ingredient Notes

  • Frozen Banana: Adds sweetness and creaminess.

How To Make a Green Detox Smoothie

Get the complete ingredients list and instructions from the recipe card below.

  1. Put all the ingredients in a high-powered blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into a glass and relish the goodness!

Expert Tips

  • If you have time, soak the blanched almonds overnight or for a few hours. This makes them easier to blend and enhances their creaminess in the smoothie.
  • Start by blending the spinach and coconut water first to ensure the spinach is finely blended. Then add the frozen ingredients for a smoother consistency.
  • If the smoothie seems too thick, add a bit more coconut water. If it’s too thin, toss in a few more frozen blueberries or another handful of spinach.
  • For the best taste and texture, enjoy the smoothie right after blending

Delicious Variations

  • Make it even more tropical: Replace the coconut water with pineapple juice, or add a handful of frozen pineapple chunks for a burst of freshness.
  • Make a Smoothie Bowl: Try a Green Smoothie Bowl instead!
  • Try different berries: Mix and match blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries for your perfect blend.

Prep and Storage

  • Prep Ahead- I do not recommend making this recipe ahead- It is best right after blending!
  • Store- If you have leftover smoothie, you can store the smoothie in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Keep in mind that the color may darken due to oxidation, but it should still be safe to consume.
  • Freeze- Prepare individual portions in freezer-safe containers or ice cube trays. Freeze for up to 2-3 months. When ready to drink, thaw the frozen smoothie in the refrigerator overnight or blend the frozen cubes directly into a smoothie.
