Valentines Day Dip

Whether you’re celebrating with the family, attending a party, or planning a romantic dinner for 2, this easy dip recipe is perfect for serving as a dessert, appetizer, party food, or anytime snack.

My kiddos love that they can make this Valentines cheesecake dip all by themselves, and they have fun decorating and selecting the dippers to pair with it. I love that it’s one of those make-in-advance portable recipes that are great for bringing to parties and potlucks.

Ingredient Notes

  • Cream cheese – choose full-fat softened cream cheese for the best, most flavorful results.
  • Whipped topping – I used Cool Whip, but you can use whipped heavy cream instead.
  • Powdered sugar – be sure to sift it first to make the dip ultra smooth.
  • Vanilla extract – use store-bought or homemade. And you can add more to your taste.
  • Red and pink food coloring – I find that the gel coloring works best.
  • Sprinkles – red and white heart sprinkles give it that classic Valentines flair.

Dipper Ideas

  • Fruit – strawberries are ideal for Valentine’s Day, but apple or pear slices and bananas also work well.
  • Cookies – such as shortbread, graham crackers, gingersnaps, chocolate chip cookies, Oreos, Nilla wafers, Ladyfingers, etc.
  • Extras – try pretzels, wafers, breadsticks, and more.

Bintu’s Notes

  • Choose high-quality ingredients to get the very best flavor.
  • Room temperature cream cheese makes for much easier mixing.
  • Adjust the amount of powdered sugar to make it more or less sweet.
  • Add more or less food coloring according to your taste and preference.

Storage

  • Prep You can prepare the mixture and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in advance. Allow it to come to room temperature before serving for the best flavor and texture. It is best enjoyed within the first 1-2 days for optimal freshness.
  • Storage — Store any leftover dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 days. Allow it to come to room temperature before serving. If you find that the dip is too thick after refrigeration, just stir in a little milk or water until you reach the desired consistency.
  • Freezing I do not recommend freezing the dip, as the texture may change upon thawing.
