INGREDIENTS

SHORTBREAD COOKIES INGREDIENTS: Butter Sugar Vanilla extract Flour Salt Cinnamon Nutmeg

Step 1

TO MAKE THE COOKIES: Preheat oven to 350F / 176C. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. Using an electric mixer, beat together butter, sugar and vanilla.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Add the combined dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix well.

Step 3

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours. Then roll out the dough to half-inch thick, use cookie cutters to cut into festive shapes and transfer to cookie sheet.

STEP 4

Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the bottom is lightly golden brown. Remove from oven and transfer to a wire baking rack to cool.
