White Cheddar Mac And Cheese

Creamy white cheddar mac & cheese is a true comfort food classic! This white cheddar mac & cheese recipe comes together in minutes & is perfect for serving as a vegetarian main dish or classic side.  


- Elbow macaroni - Unsalted butter - All-purpose flour - Milk - White cheddar cheese - Salt and pepper - Nutmeg

Step 1

Bring water to a boil and cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain the macaroni and set aside.

Step 2

In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour to create a rouxe and continue to cook for about 2 minutes until the flour starts to brown.

Step 3

Slowly add the milk while constantly whisking to make a creamy sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for about 3 minutes or until thickened.

Step 4

Remove the pot from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted and smooth.
