Ingredient Notes

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk – Sweetened condensed milk provides the creamy and rich texture and eliminates the need for additional sugar, making the fudge-making process simpler.
  • White Chocolate Chips white chocolate chips contribute to the indulgent flavor and smooth consistency of the fudge. Be sure to use high-quality white chocolate for the best taste and texture. You can substitute milk chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips if preferred.
  • Vanilla Extract Adding a touch of vanilla extract enhances the overall flavor profile of the fudge. It complements the sweetness of the white chocolate and gives a subtle depth to the finished fudge.
  • Sprinkles (Optional, for decoration) – While entirely optional, sprinkles add a festive and playful touch to your white chocolate fudge. Choose colors that complement the occasion or season to make this white fudge suitable for any event.

Expert Tips

  • Use high-quality white chocolate. Use a warm, serrated knife to cut the fudge into bite-sized pieces.
  • Be sure to use sweetened condensed milk not evaporated milk.
  • Line your baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving an overhang on the sides. This makes it easier to lift the fudge out of the pan for cutting once it has set.
  • Once the ingredients are combined, work quickly to pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Fudge made with white chocolate tends to set relatively quickly, so efficiency is key to achieving a smooth finish.
  • If you are adding sprinkles, do so immediately after pouring the fudge into the pan. This ensures that the sprinkles start well before the fudge starts to set.
  • Make sure to chill the fudge for at least 4 hours to make cutting neat pieces easier.
  • Before slicing the fudge, run a sharp knife under hot water to warm it. Wiping the knife dry, use it to make clean cuts through the fudge. This helps prevent the fudge from sticking to the knife.
  • If you’re putting your fudge on a serving platter, cut all the way through the parchment paper. This will help prevent it from sticking to your serving tray too.

Delicious Variations

There’s so many reasons to love this classic Easy White Chocolate Fudge and after you’ve tried it with this recipe, you can try some of these other variations:

  • Trade out your chocolate. If white chocolate isn’t your favorite, or you’re looking to make a variety of fudge choices, try milk or dark chocolate. Check out this Dark Chocolate recipe!
  • Make a firmer/more sturdy fudge. Following this recipe will give you soft fudge, but if sturdy fudge is more your style, use 5 cups of white chocolate chips instead of the 4 we use in this recipe.
  • Change up the sprinkles. Add your favorite sprinkles or toppings.
  • Use different toppings. Try mini chocolate chips, crushed cookies, candies, nuts, crushed peppermint and more.
  • Add in other flavors. Add a swirl of caramel, peanut butter, or a different extract flavor like peppermint extract and some mini mint chocolate chips on top. The options are endless.

Prep and Storage

  • Prep Ahead – This fudge recipe is so easy to make you don’t really have anything to prep ahead.
  • Store – Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Freeze – You can freeze your fresh cut fudge by wrapping it individually in aluminum foil or plastic wrap before putting it in a freezer-safe Ziploc bag or in another airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Thaw – Place on the counter until it reaches room temperature. Do not unwrap until it’s completely thawed or the fudge may become sticky with condensation.

FAQs

Can I use white chocolate bars instead of white chocolate chips?

you can substitute white chocolate bars for white chocolate chips. Just make sure to chop the bars into small, uniform pieces to ensure even melting.

Can I add nuts to the fudge?

Chopped nuts like pecans, almonds, or macadamias can add a delightful crunch to your white chocolate fudge. Fold them into the mixture before pouring it into the pan.

Why is my fudge soft?

While this is a softer fudge, overly soft fudge may result from not allowing it to set for at least 4 hours. If you prefer a firmer fudge, increase the amount of white chocolate chips to 5 cups.
