Bacon Wrapped Asparagus
A simple and delicious bacon and asparagus appetizer.

- 8 ounces (227g) bacon sliced
- 16 ounces (350g) asparagus about 2 bunches
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- garlic salt to taste
- ground pepper to taste
- fresh rosemary sprigs
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F / 200 degrees C, line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and spritz with olive oil.
Trim the asparagus, wrap each piece lengthwise with two slices of bacon, and place on the rimmed baking sheet.
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, soy sauce, garlic salt and black pepper and brush the mixture over each piece of bacon wrapped asparagus.
Finally, arrange the rosemary stems around the asparagus. They will add flavor as the asparagus cooks.
Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until bacon is crispy and asparagus is fork-tender.
- Choose asparagus spears that are similar in size.
- Trim the asparagus stalk or break off the woody ends before cooking.
- For smaller asparagus, bundle several together before wrapping with bacon.
- For thicker bacon, cut the bacon slices lengthwise.
- Make sure the bacon is wrapped tightly around the asparagus spears.
- Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Spray the baking tray with cooking oil before adding the wrapped asparagus bundles.
- For extra crispy bacon, cook the bundles on an oven safe wire rack over a baking sheet.
- Secure the bacon with a toothpick if desired. Remove toothpicks before serving.
- Serve bacon wrapped asparagus with your favorite dipping sauce.
