Turning Two and a Venison Steak Sandwich

A garlicky venison steak, dressed with a radish and mustard mayonnaise and some peppery watercress, served between two thick slices of wholemeal bread.
Servings 1 sandwich

Ingredients

  • 100 g (3.5oz) venison steak
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • Salt
  • Olive oil

For the radish mayonnaise

  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1/2 tsp wholegrain mustard
  • Salt
  • 4 radishes thinly sliced

For the Sandwich

  • 2 slices of bread
  • A handful of watercress

Instructions

Prepare the venison steak.

  • Season the steak with garlic, salt and 1 tsp of olive oil and let marinate for 10 mins. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the steak for about 2-3 min on each side till it is cooked to your preference. Remove the steak from the heat onto a cool plate and let it rest until it cools down.

Prepare the radish mayonnaise.

  • Mix the mayonnaise, mustard and salt until combined and then mix in the radishes.

Assemble the sandwich.

  • Slice the cooled steak into smaller pieces. Assemble the sandwich starting with a slice of bread, then the radish mayonnaise, venison steak, watercress and second slice of bread. Enjoy.
