Air Fryer Chicken Fried Rice
Air Fryer Fried Rice is a healthier version of your favourite takeout!
- 3 cups (325g) rice cold
- 1 cup (130g) chicken leftover and cubed
- 5 tbsp tamari soy sauce or regular if not gluten free
- 1.5 cup frozen veggies (I used sweet corn and peas)
- 2 green onions (spring onions), sliced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp chili sauce optional
- salt to taste
Preheat the air fryer to 350F / 180C.
Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl.
Then transfer to a non-stick pan that fits inside the air fryer basket.
Cook for 20 mins, stirring the rice mixture a couple of times during cooking.
Tips for Making Fried Rice in the Air Fryer
What To Serve With Air Fryer Fried Rice
Chinese Five Spice Pulled Pork.
Instant Pot Chicken Wings.
You can easily make this fried rice with turkey or pork instead of chicken, or skip the meat all together.
Use any combination of veggies you like! I used sweet corn and peas, but try it with whatever you have available. Broccoli, string beans and diced bell peppers are all good options.
For those not following a gluten-free diet, feel free to use regular soy sauce instead of tamari.
Making this for the kiddoes, or anyone who doesn’t like heat? You can omit the chili sauce.
If you don't mix the fried rice during cooking, you will end up with crunchy rice on top (which I happen to quite like!).
