Easy Homemade Poultry Seasoning Mix

A homemade blend of herbs and spices for seasoning chicken and turkey.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons sage dried
  • 1 ½ tablespoons rosemary dried
  • 1 ½ tablespoons thyme dried
  • 1 tablespoon marjoram dried
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika optional
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander (optional, but I love it) optional
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg

Instructions

  • Add all the herbs and spices into a spice grinder.
  • Grind into a powder.
  • Store in a spice jar or mason jar if you make a large quantity for up to 6 months.

Notes

  • Use fresh herbs and spices. Toss any old spices in your cabinet.
  • Feel free to add a teaspoon more or less of herbs or spices to your taste.
  • Go easy on the seasoning, start with less than you think you need, and add more to taste.
  • This makes an awesome spice rub and works great on chicken, pork, and shrimp.
  • Allow the meat or veggies to marinate for 30 minutes or so before cooking in a skillet, Instant Pot, Air Fryer, or oven.
  • Sometimes it is easier to mix the seasoning with some oil and make a paste before rubbing on.
  • This seasoning contains no meat and can be used in vegetarian recipes.
  • Storage - keep in an airtight container or jar in a dark, cool place for up to 6 months.
