Ingredients

  • 1 cup (227g) butter unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 orange juice and zest

Instructions

  • Start by softening the butter for 30 seconds in the microwave.
  • Add the zest and juice of one orange and honey, stirring to combine.
  • Form the butter into a log shape and wrap in parchment paper. Or, tranfer to a mason jar and place inside the fridge.
  • Before serving, allow the honey butter to come to room temperature.

Notes

  • To really bring out the flavor, add in a pinch of sea salt.
  • This recipe is fantastic on homemade bread and banana bread.
  • Make sure to use unsalted butter. If you use salted butter, don’t add any additional optional salt.
  • Using room temperature butter makes it easier to work with. This may eliminate the need to microwave it to soften it first.
  • Allow your refrigerated honey butter to come to room temperature before spreading
