Classic Waffles and Sage by Heston Smart Waffle Maker Review

An easy classic waffle recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 50 g sugar (optional)
  • 300 g self raising flour
  • 125 g butter melted
  • 430 ml milk

Instructions

  • Switch Smart Waffle on, select classic setting and dial up to the brown setting you desire
  • Preheat waffle maker until the orange light flashes up and the word HEATING disappears.
  • Whisk together milk, butter and eggs and set aside.
  • Mix flour and sugar (if using) in a large bowl and make a hole in the centre.
  • Slowly whisk the milk mixture into the flour to make a batter and don't worry if there are some lumps.
  • Pour half a waffle measure cup of batter into each waffle square, close lid and cook until timer has finished and beeps three times.
  • Repeat until all the mixture is finished.
