Garlic Butter Sesame Instant Pot Green Beans

These Dump and Start Instant Pot Green Beans are easy to make and full of flavour.

  • 1 lb (450g) green beans topped and tailed
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tsp garlic purée
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds


  • Add chicken stock to the Instant Pot insert.
  • Then add the green beans, followed by butter and garlic.
  • Place lid on the Instant Pot and turn the valve to the sealing (not venting) position.
  • Set to manual/pressure cook on high pressure for 0 mins.
  • When done, allow for a complete natural pressure release and then remove from heat right away.
  • Mix in the sesame oil very gently, then decant and top with sesame seeds before serving.
