Ingredients

  • 1 small seedless watermelon cubed (approximately 3lbs)
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup tequila
  • 1/4 tsp pink Himalayan salt or sea salt flakes
  • Lime slices to suspend inside the ice pops

Instructions

  • Cut the watermelon into cubes and place cubes into blender. Mix until smooth.
  • Next, add the lime juice, tequila, and Himalayan salt and blend until well mixed.
  • Pour the mixture into popsicle molds and freeze for about 2 - 2.5 hrs.
  • Remove the popsicle molds from the freezer, and add in the lime slices. Freeze for an additional 4 - 5 hrs until fully frozen.
  • Remove the watermelon margarita popsicles from the mold and serve.

Notes

  • You can replace the watermelon with other fruit, such as mango, papaya or pineapple. Strawberry margarita popsicles are a personal fave.
  •  Try layering and freezing different fruit purées in stages to create stunning multi-colour popsicles.
  • When blending your ingredients together start with a slower setting and then increase speed.
  • To make non-alcoholic margarita popsicles, simply replace the tequila with lemonade. The kids will absolutely looooove this family-friendly version!
  • Cutting the watermelon into smaller cubes will result in getting a smoother purée faster.
  • Swap out the tequila for some rum to make a batch of delicious daiquiri popsicles.
There is just 1 Blue Plan SmartPoint in one of these Ice Pops.
