Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

These easy to make Air Fryer Pizza Rolls are super tasty and totally kid-friendly!

Ingredients

  • 14 ounces (400g) ready-made refrigerated pizza dough or crescent rolls dough
  • 8 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 18 pieces pepperoni
  • 5 ½ ounces (160g) mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 ounces (30g) butter melted
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • all-purpose flour for dusting the dough
  • shredded cheddar cheese to put on the top of the rolls, optional

Instructions

How To Make Air Fryer Pizza Rolls

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375 degrees F / 190 degrees C.
  • Divide the ready-rolled dough into 8 equal strips, dust some flour onto the dough to keep it from sticking if needed.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce onto each strip, then quarter all the pepperoni and evenly distribute to all 8 strips.
  • Divide the shredded mozzarella cheese to 8 portions and put it on top of the strips, and then roll all the strips up.
  • Put garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the rest of the melted butter, mix together and then brush the mixture to the top of the pizza roll-ups. (Optional: add some extra shredded cheddar cheese onto the top of the roll-ups for extra cheesiness)
  • Place a piece of parchment paper in the air fryer before adding the pizza rolls in seam side down.
  • Air fry for 10-15 minutes, until it has crisped up to your desire.
  • When your pizza rolls are done, let them cool to touch before serving with marinara sauce.

How To Make Pizza Rolls in the Oven

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F / 180 degrees C.
  • Divide the ready-rolled pizza dough into 8 equal strips, dust some flour onto the dough to keep it from sticking if needed.
  • Spread 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce onto each strip, then quarter all the pepperoni and evenly distributed to all 8 strips.
  • Divide the shredded mozzarella cheese into 8 portions and put it on top of the strips, then roll all the strips up.
  • Grease a muffin pan with melted butter and place the roll-ups inside.
  • Put garlic powder, salt, and pepper in the rest of the melted butter, mix together and then brush the mixture to the top of the pizza roll-ups. (Optional: add some extra shredded cheddar cheese onto the top of the roll-ups for extra cheesiness)
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • When done, let them cool to touch before serving with marinara sauce.

Notes

    • Preheat the air fryer for best results.
    • Don't overcrowd the air fryer. The pizza rolls will rise and spread a little, so leave plenty of room between them.
    • For the sauce, you can use pizza sauce or plain tomato sauce or your favorite pasta sauce.
    • Place a piece of parchment on the bottom of the air fryer or brush the air fryer basket or grates with olive oil.
    • You can add a little more sauce if you prefer, just make sure you don't overfill these so the sauce does not ooze out as you roll them up.
    • Top them off with a sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese or fresh basil.
    • Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
    • Air fryer temperatures can vary depending on the make and model, so it is important to always check your food for doneness. 
    • Allow the pizza rolls to cool slightly before you remove them from the air fryer basket or muffin pan.
