- 5 tablespoons (70g) butter
- 1/2 cup (118mL) milk
- 1/4 cup (59mL) water
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 tablespoons yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups (384g) flour
- 1 tablespoon heavy cream
- 1 egg yolk
Set your Instant Pot to sauté and add the milk, water, and butter heating until the butter has completely melted.
Turn off the Instant Pot and mix in the sugar and yeast. Allow the mixture to rest for a few minutes until the yeast starts to bubble.
Add the flour and salt. Use a wooden spoon to stir and combine. The dough should be somewhat elastic.
Place the lid on the pressure cooker and walk away to let the dough rise for about 1 hour.
Next, roll the dough into 10 balls, place them into a baking dish, cover, and let rise for about 30 minutes.
Brush the dough with the cream and egg mixture.
Preheat your oven to 350F / 190C and bake for 35-40 minutes, until golden brown.
- Don’t overheat the milk, water, and butter. You want to melt the butter gently and heat the milk and water but do not allow it to simmer or boil.
- Once you add the yeast, let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast starts to bubble.
- Don’t forget to preheat your oven!
