Air Fryer Kale Chips

It's easy to make this healthy snack in the air fryer!

Ingredients

  • 1 bunch kale
  • salt to taste
  • 1 spritz oil or calorie-controlled cooking spray (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 375F / 190C.
  • Wash, dry and tear the kale.
  • Add the kale to the air fryer basket, filling about halfway.
  • Spritz with oil and sprinkle with salt.
  • Air fry in batches for 4-6 minutes, shaking a couple of times during cooking.
  • Kale chips can burn quickly, so it's important to check it frequently, beginning at the 3-minute mark.

Notes

  • Thoroughly wash and dry the kale before proceeding with the recipe. 
  • For a more even coating of the seasoning, toss the kale with the oil and salt to coat well before adding it to the air fryer basket. 
  • Don’t crowd the basket with too much kale or it will crisp unevenly. 
  • Cover the kale with an extra air fryer rack to prevent it from flying around inside the air fryer.
  • To re-crisp leftover kale chips, reheat them in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Storage - keep at room temperature in a brown paper bag or loosely sealed zip-top bag for 5-7 days.
