- 1 bunch kale
- salt to taste
- 1 spritz oil or calorie-controlled cooking spray (optional)
Preheat your air fryer to 375F / 190C.
Wash, dry and tear the kale.
Add the kale to the air fryer basket, filling about halfway.
Spritz with oil and sprinkle with salt.
Air fry in batches for 4-6 minutes, shaking a couple of times during cooking.
Kale chips can burn quickly, so it's important to check it frequently, beginning at the 3-minute mark.
- Thoroughly wash and dry the kale before proceeding with the recipe.
- For a more even coating of the seasoning, toss the kale with the oil and salt to coat well before adding it to the air fryer basket.
- Don’t crowd the basket with too much kale or it will crisp unevenly.
- Cover the kale with an extra air fryer rack to prevent it from flying around inside the air fryer.
- To re-crisp leftover kale chips, reheat them in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes.
- Storage - keep at room temperature in a brown paper bag or loosely sealed zip-top bag for 5-7 days.
- If you skip the oil or use a calorie-controlled cooking spray, there are 0 Blue Plan SmartPoints in one serving of this.
