Ingredients

  • 3 cups (375g) pecans
  • ½ cup (170g) honey
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine honey and pecans, then add the cinnamon and mix until well coated.
  • Place the nuts in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Cook at 250 degrees F / 121 degrees C for 5-6 minutes.  If not cooked enough, you can cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes until the nuts are golden and the coating is bubbly. Keep a close eye on them so they don't burn.
  • Remove the nuts and spread them out on a lined baking tray to cool before serving.

Notes

  • Check your pecans and discard any pieces of shells.
  • Store unused pecans in the freezer to help them last longer.
  • Microwave the honey for 10-15 seconds if it is too thick.
  • Mix the nuts, honey, and cinnamon well to make sure they are evenly coated.
  • Lightly spray the basket of the air fryer with oil to keep them from sticking.
  • Shake them halfway through the cooking process to encourage even cooking.
  • If you have a smaller air fryer, you may need to cook in batches.
  • Watch the nuts closely and don’t allow them to burn. Remove them from heat as soon as they turn golden as they can burn quickly.
  • Allow to cool completely before storing in an air-tight container or packaging as gifts.
  • As the coating cools the nuts will firm up.
  • Storage – keep in an airtight container for 3 weeks. Store in the freezer for up to a year.
