Green Ginger Peach Smoothie
Guys, I finally did it.
I developed my first green smoothie recipe.
And I really, really like it.
It has only taken me six months to work up to putting together spinach with some fruit and turning these into a drink. I mean we are talking about spinach and it is rather green. Right? OH’s reaction was – you want me to DRINK SPINACH, in a SMOOTHIE? Are you MAD?
Well, let’s just say that I was mad. But he did drink it and we both liked it. Result.
In response to a comment from one of my lovely readers on another of my smoothie recipes, I am experimenting with diary free and banana free smoothies. Don’t get me wrong I love yoghurt based smoothies and I will make those forever and ever and ever. But the foodie in me likes challenges like this.
The key to this smoothie is using very good quality orange juice and baby spinach leaves. The peaches give it a lovely creamy texture so you won’t miss the banana or yoghurt. Of course, use fresh peaches if you have them but if not, then tinned peaches work well too. And the ginger, well that just lifts up the flavour of the peaches to a whole other level.
You definitely don’t taste the spinach in this – you just get the goodness. So don’t be put off by the name green smoothie and don’t be put off by the green colour. In fact the way I see it this smoothie is easy to make, is super healthy, full of fruit and vegetables that are good for you, is dairy free and tastes very very good.
Christmas excesses I challenge you.
Cardamom banana smoothie.

beautiful green glass of goodness!Peach is a lovely addition!
Never made a green smoothie but this one looks like the one to try. What a great idea to add peaches to spinach!
Congrats on your first green smoothie! Says she who’s still not been brave enough. Seeing as I nearly always have kale to use up I really REALLY should give one a go, I’m impressed at how tasty yours sounds 🙂
Thanks Louisa – I am keen to expand and add things like kale etc.
I usually have a green smoothie before my workout every morning and it gives me such a boost. I like adding kale 🙂
Dannii, kale is next on my to try list.
Love green smoothies! Next time you’re making hubby one, use nettles instead of spinach (no, it doesn’t sting, and yes, it tastes great!) 😉

I feel healthy just looking at that picture. I love ginger in drinks and will def like to try this one.
That sounds wonderful. I know I would love this one too!
Hey J, let me know if you try it.
Yes please! I’m always up for a good and healthy breakfast smoothie 🙂 Will exchange a glass for my almond tart? xx
We have a deal.
Wow, that sounds totally delicious. I’ve never tried adding greens to my smoothies, but I love the colour and can imagine spinach would work well.
I think I fell in love with the colour first before the taste.
It looks VERY green and VERY fresh, just lovely! Karen
Yeap it does Karen. It was fun photographing it.
This sounds incredible – can’t wait to try it. I’m addicted to morning smoothies at the mo. Made my first kale one yesterday which was interesting. This looks much more delicious!
Would love to try your kale smoothie.

It does A.
This smoothie sounds so good 🙂
This sounds perfect for getting the new year off to a great start, Bintu! I love peaches and spinach, but I could imagine doing something similar with pears when peaches aren’t available… Very tasty and wonderful color…
Yeah JV, pears would be good too.
Oooh, this sounds delicious. I really like how you used orange juice in the smoothie. I don’t think I’ve ever had one quite like this before. I need to get my blender fixed so I can make this!
Yeah the orange juice gives it a very nice flavour. Different from the normal yoghurt I use.
