I’m having a major fluff dessert moment right now. As in, I want to eat, breathe, and sleep this awesome orange fluff salad and this dreamy Oreo fluff dessert all the days. I am a little bit, okay, a lot obsessed with these right now.

I love serving Oreo fluff dessert as a fun side or light and refreshing no-bake dessert during BBQs and picnics, potlucks to 4th of July celebrations, or even for family dinner and at birthday parties. Especially as it’s a lot easier to make than it looks.

Easy Pantry Staple Fluff Salad

I really do find it quite amazing how simple everyday pantry ingredients like pudding mix, cream cheese, Oreos, marshmallows, and Cool Whip magically transform into this creamy, no-bake dessert dip everyone will love.

Even better, I can whip this up with a few minutes of prep work, make it ahead of time, and store until needed. So simple and so easy! I serve it alongside these Oreo dirt cups, as well as these easy summer desserts and easy summer salads.

Why Make This Recipe

  • Easy to make — This no bake dip can be prepared in 10 minutes, so it’s perfect for last-minute gatherings or when you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen.
  • Light and refreshing—This dessert combines creamy pudding, fluffy marshmallows, and cookies, making it refreshing and light, ideal for warmer weather. It’s a great alternative to heavier desserts, and the citrusy flavor is perfect for spring and summer.
  • Uses pantry staples — You likely have most of the ingredients on hand, so it’s a convenient dessert that you can make without having to run to the grocery store.

Ingredient Notes

  • Instant cookies and cream pudding mix — Pudding mix adds creaminess and a hint of cookies and cream flavor. Substitution: You can use other flavors of instant pudding mix for different flavor variations.
  • Cream cheese — make sure this is softened.
  • Sugar — Add some extra sweetness with the sugar.
  • Vanilla extract — Use your favorite brand for extra flavor.
  • Milk — use either whole milk or semi skim milk, according to your preference.
  • Whipped topping — Thawed cool whip makes it light and fluffy. You can use whipped cream as a substitute, though the texture may be slightly different.
  • Marshmallows — Use mini marshmallows or larger marshmallows cut into smaller pieces.
  • Oreos – This recipe calls for mini Oreos, the star of the show. If using larger Oreos, you will need to break them up. Extra Oreos can be made into a cookies and cream milkshake.

Bintu’s Tips

  • Make sure you use instant pudding mix.
  • Thaw the cool whip before incorporating.
  • Fold ingredients in gently to avoid deflating the salad, and be sure not to overmix so the cookies don’t crumble too much.
  • For the best results, chill for 1-2 hours before serving.

Delicious Variations

  • Swap the cookies – Use different flavors of Oreos, and my kiddoes love adding in some graham crackers.
  • Vary the pudding – Try cheesecake pudding mix or white chocolate pudding mix.
  • Add mix-ins – Add chopped nuts (such as pecans or walnuts) or mini chocolate chips for extra texture and flavor.
  • Oreo fluff pie – Convert it into a pie by pouring the mix into a pie crust and chilling. Just the best thing.
  • Lower-sugar version – You can easily use sugar free pudding mix and use a bit less sugar.
  • Make it Christmasy – Add in festive sprinkles, strawberries and raspberries.

Prep And Storage

  • Store – Keep the salad in an airtight container inside the fridge for up to 3 days. Store the topping Oreos and marshmallows separately and add just before serving. Otherwise, the cookies will go soggy.
  • Freeze – Freezing this dessert dip is not recommended.

FAQs

Can I make this salad in advance?

This Oreo fluff salad should be prepared at least 1 hour before serving but can be made up to a day in advance. Add the toppings just before serving

Can I make this with whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?

While you can use whipped cream, the texture may not be quite the same as with Cool Whip. If using whipped cream, you should consume the dessert within 24 hours or it may become watery.

How can I make this healthier?

This dessert salad is meant to be enjoyed as a treat. You can make it a bit healthier by using sugar free jello and pudding and using lite Cool Whip. Enjoy in moderation.
